General Event Info

We welcome riders and horses of all levels to participate in our shows, clinics, and seminars. Many of our riding clinics are free to audit, and there are numerous opportunities to learn and grow both in and out of the saddle. Below you will find individual event descriptions, registration links, and important details for each offering.

 

Please note: Stalls for overnight stays during events are limited. If you are interested in reserving a stall, please contact our team in advance to confirm availability.

Schooling Shows 

Welcome to the inaugural year for KV Dressage Schooling Shows! We are excited to bring riders of Kansas City and the surrounding area more options for showing and community. Our hope is to compliment the existing local events with another venue and dates to help our equestrian community to have opportunities to school, show and learn! We are excited our shows will gain riders scores towards KCDS Year End Awards and The Property Shop Awards. Check out the Class List closely, we have a lot of fun options including Trail Class, Prix Caprilli, Walk Only and Trainer In Your Ear Classes!

In Hand to In Harmony with Brittany Stanley is a thoughtfully designed clinic centered on relational horsemanship and purposeful groundwork as the foundation for balance, confidence, and collection. Through in-hand work and progressive exercises, participants will explore how correct connection on the ground translates to harmony under saddle and lays the groundwork for advanced movements such as piaffe and passage.

This clinic is ideal for young or developing horses, nervous or sensitive horses, and owners seeking practical tools for handling, communication, and confidence in new environments. It is equally well-suited for horses ready to begin learning the concepts of piaffe and passage through correct, horse-first preparation. Brittany’s approach emphasizes clarity, trust, biomechanics, and relaxation meeting each horse where they are while building toward correct, sustainable development.

Intro to Working Equitation

Curious about Working Equitation or looking for a fun way to expand your horse’s education?

 

This Intro to Working Equitation Clinic is designed to give riders and horses a positive, low-key introduction to the sport in a supportive learning environment.

​​

No prior Working Equitation experience required, just bring an open mind and a sense of adventure!

​

Riders will work in small group sessions, allowing for individualized instruction while being introduced to many of the common obstacles found in Working Equitation competition. The focus will be on understanding how to ride the obstacles correctly, learning the rules and strategies behind each element, and developing confidence for both horse and rider.

​

​$65 for one day, $120 for both days. Includes lunch and refreshments.

​

This clinic emphasizes:

  • Introduction to standard Working Equitation obstacles

  • Clear explanation of rules, judging, and strategy

  • Thoughtful exposure to obstacles in a calm, confidence-building setting

  • A fun, relaxed atmosphere suitable for green horses or first-time riders

From Rules to Rhythm: Mastering USDF Freestyles

Led by Sam Martinson, USEF “r” Judge, professional freestyle designer, FEI competitor, and founder of Rhythm & Blues Freestyles, this seminar draws on years of experience both judging and creating successful freestyles at regional, national, and CDI levels. Sam has taken seven of her own freestyles to the US Dressage Finals and continues to help riders craft programs that score and feel great to ride.

You Be The Judge!

Featuring Marie Maloney 'R' & Katelyn Victoria Razumovsky 'r'

Ever wondered what its like to be a Dressage Judge? You Be The Judge is a hands-on seminar designed to introduce riders, trainers, and dressage enthusiasts to the fundamentals of dressage judging through real-time, practical experience.

​

Participants will have the opportunity to judge alongside two licensed USEF Small “r” and Large “R” Judges, gaining insight into how movements are evaluated, how scores are determined, and how comments are formed. Using live demo riders, attendees will practice judging tests, discuss decision-making from the judge’s perspective, and develop a clearer understanding of the dressage score sheet and purpose of the levels.

​

This seminar will cover:

  • The basics of dressage judging 

  • How judges assess gaits, movements, and collective marks

  • Forming effective comments and understanding score ranges

  • Live judging practice with guided discussion 

  • Insight into the judge education pathway for those considering officiating

​

Whether you’re curious about becoming a dressage judge, want to sharpen your eye as a rider or trainer, or simply wish to better understand how tests are evaluated, this seminar offers a valuable and engaging look from the other side of C.

​

No prior judging experience required, just an interest in learning how dressage is evaluated at shows.

This is not a USDF judges program. It will not earn participants any certification to become a judge or earn credentials.
